Affi Lande 2-Day Trail Run (pet friendly)

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Join us for a 1st of its kind, pet friendly, 2 day trail run at Affi Lande Boetiek Guest Farm, Fouriesburg in the Free State.

The theme for this year’s race is Oktober Beer Fest!  The weekend will be filled with lots of trail running options, food, drinks, markets, games and live music to keep everyone entertained.

Saturday evening will be the official Beer Fest Themed Party for everyone to enjoy.

Every challenge entry includes a special event t-shirt as well as a very specifically designed challenge medal.

The top 3 male and female overall finishers for each of the 3 challenges will also receive special prizes during the awards ceremony on Sunday.

Online entries close at midnight on 20 October 2022.

Challenge entries will still be accepted at the venue on Friday, 21 October 2022 during the registration time between 16h00 till 20h00, but please note that your specific t-shirt size might not be available and you will have to see what is available.

CHALLENGE OPTIONS:

Rebel Route (pet friendly) - R350:

Saturday - 5km

Sunday - 5km

Cradle Rock (pet friendly) - R400:

Saturday - 10km

Sunday - 5km

Golden Pass (not pet friendly) - R500:

Saturday - 21km

Sunday - 10km

SINGLE DAY ENTRY OPTIONS:

Saturday: 5km (R100), 10km (R120) or 21km (R160)

Sunday: 5km (R100) or 10km (R120)

Single day entries do not include the official race t-shirt and specially designed race medal.  However, t-shirts will be on sale during the weekend (while stocks last) and each entrant will receive a special one day finisher medal.

Race T-shirts can be bought on-line together with your online single day entry as well at R180 per t-shirt - sizes available: XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL)

PET FRIENDLY RULES:

• Dogs are welcome on the 5km and 10km routes.
• Please note that it is STRICTLY ON LEASH.
• Only dogs taking part in the trail run may be brought to the venue.
• There won't be people available to look after your dog while you are out on the trails.

WEEKEND SCHEDULE AND TIMES:

Friday - 21 October 2022:

• Registration opens at 16h00 till 20h00 for collection of t-shirts and timing bands.
• The restaurant will be open for dinner and drinks at your own cost.

Saturday - 22 October 2022:

• Late registration and on-the-day entries will be open between 06h00 till 06h40
• Race briefing will be held at 06h50
• The Golden Pass Challenge entrants will start at 07h00
• The Rebel Route and Cradle Rock entrants will start at 07h20
• There will be a market with lots of interesting vendors, food, drinks and live music at the venue as of 10h00 till late.
• You can also book your dinner at the Affi Lande Restaurant for the Saturday night Beer Fest.
• There will be a special 10km Water Tunnel Booze Hike (not pet friendly) on Saturday afternoon starting at 14h00 which can be booked at Affi Lande Boetiek Guest Farm as well.

Sunday - 23 October 2022:

• On-the-day entries and upgrades/downgrades will be open between 06h00 till 06h40
• Race briefing will be held at 06h50
• The Golden Pass Challenge entrants will start at 07h00
• The Rebel Route and Cradle Rock entrants will start at 07h20
• Medal award and Prize giving ceremony will take place from 10h00 till 11h00
• Check-out and departure from 11h00

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS:

The main accommodation venues for this event is at the following venues:

1. Affi Lande Boetiek Guest Farm (limited group accommodation available - only small dogs can be accommodated)
2. Meiringskloof Nature Park (various camping facilities and chalets available - pet friendly)
3. Fouriesburg Inn (various accommodation rooms available - not pet friendly)
